The beginning of patching

I've been noticing Vivi's left eye wandering ("disassociating is the scientific term) for a few months. We finally got an appointment with the pediatric ophthalmologist in town last week who confirmed that she has strabismus. This is no surprise since it runs in families and I also had a lazy left eye as a child. On a scale of 1 to 10, hers is currently a 1, so that's good news. We started patching her good eye (the right eye) this week for one hour a day. She will be reevaluated in 3 months.

Noah's Ark at the Skirball

We went to Noah's Ark as the Skirball Institute. Lots of animals made out of recycled materials, interactive exhibits for the kids, and a fantastic climber.

Trolleys!

Vivi loves trolleys and buses. And so she is very fortunate that her uncle Brent works for the San Diego MTS. She is pretty sure all the trolleys of San Diego belong to Brent. She got to ride on one of "Brent's trolleys" and see where they all "live" and even see their control center. What a lucky girl. When we went up to his office, he had balloons and a toy trolley for her. This was clearly the highlight of the trip to San Diego for Vivi (maybe even more exciting than Christmas morning).
