It's hard to tell from the photo, but this mirror made it look like you could shake your own hand.

A spinning circus tent. Made you feel dizzy even when you weren't moving.

Fun with Emma

We met up with old friends - and they have a 3 year old too!

Dying eggs. I lost patience with that egg scooper (in my right hand) and just put my hand right in the bowl of dye to get my eggs out.

The Monarch Butterfly: Aina Polkabot

A colleague brought me a monarch chrysalis that had formed on a binder clip. We've been watching it change over the past two weeks.

Beginning to see the wings forming

The chrysalis got to spend a few days at pre-school.

On Sunday morning we woke up to find the chrysalis turned black. We could just see the orange butterfly wings inside.

On Sunday evening the butterfly emerged

Vivi named it "Aina Polkabot" - aina after her friend and polkabot because it looked like it was wearing polka dots and vivi says polka bot for polka dots.

It's a boy! We can tell by the two black dots near the center of each of the smaller wings.
