First organ composition

We now have my great grandmother's organ. She must have thought that it was time for me to begin my music education because she sent it up here with my grandparents. I've been practicing a lot and this is my first solo composition in the key of who knows.

Fiesta

Walking with Daddy. Notice the umbrellas? It rained this morning. In August! On parade day. Fortunately it stopped just before parade time.

This was our float - it's a boat. All the kids could ride in it.

Our float made giant bubbles. The bubble mix is stored in the support pipe and the net gets lowered into the bubble solution and then pops up and makes a bubble.  Everyone cheered for us.

But mostly, I ran about, directing the action.

That was a lot of work. Now I hydrate.

Giant Bubbles

Mommy and Daddy want to make giant bubbles for the parade. They're experimenting with making bubble solutions - trying to find a recipe that works well. I get to judge the bubbles.

Well, that bubble is pretty big - but I think we can do better.

I found a bug - it rolled itself into a ball. And then I squished it (oops).

The right socks

Vivi has become very interested and concerned about her socks. Last night after being in bed, she got angry, crawled out of bed, emptied her sock basket and looked through them all until she found these two socks. She has been wearing an identical (or very similar) pair for 3 straight days now. We had put a different (non animal-themed pair on her after her bath - we won't make that mistake again). Fortunately, since each sock is from a different pair and the set came with brown and white versions of the same sock, she has several options. As long as one has jungle animals and one has monkeys, all is good.

Trying to see what the "big kids" are doing. And yes, I do need my sweater even though it is 80 degrees. Wouldn't you if your sweater turned you into a dragon?

I know that fish swim in water. Maybe my goldfish crackers would like to be in my sippy cup. Do they fit through the straw?

Playground Physicist

beans and fine motor skills

At Vivi's school, they do an activity where they give the kids dry beans and containers and they move the beans carefully from one container to the other. Apparently Vivi quite enjoys this at pre-school and it's good for fine motor skills. So we tried it at home. Ends up Vivi worked on her gross motor skills instead.

Mommy thought this would be an activity that wouldn't require much clean up - hahaha!

I like to throw the beans - by the handful. I try to get them in the bowl, but my aim is developing.

I pretended to help clean up - but I was really just making piles of beans to throw again.
